WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
Have you ever heard that expression? Sure you have. Perhaps an authority figure shouted it at you when you were a child. Perhaps someone braced you with it when you made a driving error.
We usually take it as a put-down, a negative question. Now, lets frame it in a more gentle, probing manner. I ask you, wanting an honest answer, "Who, and what, do you think you are?"
In the Greatest Book ever written we are told, "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he". (Prov. 23-7)
I once attended a sales school that had a sign on the wall, reading "If you think you can, or can't, you're right".
Many great men have spent their lives teaching this one thought. Volumes have been written about it.
WE ARE WHAT WE THINK WE ARE.
Going a step further... what we think is influenced by the words and actions of others. And, the thoughts of others are influenced by our words and thoughts.
We should, therefore, always speak and act in such a manner as to influence good and positive thoughts in others.
