DIVINE INTERVENTION

Some things can only be explained as Divine Intervention. Seems that my wheelchair got a thorn in the tire and developed a slow leak. I had no patches and Joan was gone somewhere. I wanted to ride around, but found I had only $3 with me.

I took my bicycle pump and filled the tire, put tools in my ditty bag, and took off to the local 7-11 to spend the last three bucks on a patch kit. Problem number one - the patch kit cost $3.94.

I knew that the service station had patches and he would do it for free, but he was half a mile away. Only one thing to do, pump it up again and stop when necessary to pump some more. I pumped air into that sick tire and started off for the service station.

Half a block down the street the tire was flat again. I stopped alongside the curb and hooked up the pump. As I did, I prayed, Lord, let me get this thing off the street before this tire comes apart.

I could not get the pump to work from the seat, so I struggled out and sat on the curb. There under my foot I saw something - a $20 bill!

I picked it up and found two - one dollar bills and some coins. I could not believe it! Thank you, Lord, but I really did not need that much. I had a feeling He had some purpose for that extra money.

After pumping up the tire I turned back to the 7-11, bought the patch kit, pumped up the tire again, and went home.

I was busy patching the tire when the door bell rang. I crawled to the door, opened it, and there was a Federal Express man with a package. He said, This is medical supplies for the people next door but no one is there. It was shipped Over Night Express so I think they may need it. If I take it back, they cant get it until tomorrow. There is a C.O.D. of $18.30. I wondered if you could advise me on what to do.

Sure, I said, Give it to me. Here is the money. and I handed him the $20.

Thank you, Lord, for You had your reasons...
