Bible Mystery

Genesis 1:28 speaks of Gods creation of Man. Again in Genesis 2:7, then woman in 2:20 ~ 24

Genesis 4:1 tells about the birth of Cain. Genesis 2:2 tells about the birth of Able. In Genesis 4:8 we see the story of Murder, where Cain killed his brother, Able.

Genesis 4:16 tells us that Cain fled into the land of Nod, east of Eden, where he took a wife and had children.

Who was she? Was she one of his sisters? Or was she an animal that he seduced?

I posed this unknown to many people. My dad told me, If it were needful that we should know, God would have told us. A Rabbi that I got to know once told me he thought God did tell us but we did not understand His words. A priest once told me that it was obvious that Cain married his sister, since there is not a single place in the Bible where the birth of a daughter is mentioned. Adam and Eve could have had many children that was not mentioned, and Cains wife had to have been one of these, or an offspring of them.

Then a medical doctor friend and I were talking and he gave a very logical answer. He said we should read the scripture closely, and to each we should interpret as we go.

To do this we need to start with the knowledge we have - we know that God created Adam and Eve and placed them in the Garden of Eden. So, read again Genesis 1:28. But, read the verses before that one. God created the world. He divided the waters. He made night and day. He created all the fish, birds, and all other animals. All the plants were made. Then, He created man after His own image, MALE AND FEMALE. He gave man dominion over all other life, that Man might be superior to them.

Right so far?

Now, lets move forward to Genesis 2:7 Here God spat on the earth and from the dust (mud) He made a man. He breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. (KJ Bible) Being. (American standard edition)

The Bible goes on to explain about the Garden of Eden and the bountiful supplies He put there. Genesis 2:19 tells us how everything got a name. In reviewing all the other animals and naming them, none were found to be a help mate for Adam. So, God put Adam to sleep and he opened him up and removed a part, and from this part, He made a helper for Adam. Then He closed up the opening and awoke Adam.

(The word Woman in ancient Hebrew means Of Man) So, Adam called this helper - WOMAN, because she was of man.. (Genesis 3:23)

Skipping forward to Genesis chapter 4, we find that Adam and Eve had children. Cain killed his brother, Able, then fled from the face of God to the land of Nod, east of Eden. Here he married and had children. (Genesis 4:16 ~ 17)

Who was Cains wife?

Think again of the two references of the creation of man. Was these two references the same event as most Christians believe? If so, Cain had to have married some of his own kin. But, were they two separate creations? Think again, no mention was made of how many men and women were made in the first event. Could have been many, each essentially non kin to one another. So, isnt it very possible that Cain married a human being, not kin to himself?

Many people thinks I am so very wrong in some of my beliefs, but I still believe them, just the same. Contrary of what my dear father said, I believe God did tell us where Cain got a wife. We just have to be able to understand what He said just like my Jewish Rabbi friend said.
